On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition
1. What are the things we need to bring?
· All you need are black-inked pens, sharpened pencil and eraser. One may also opt yo bring a correction fluid. If you want to use pencil and eraser for doing the drafts, you may do so but see to it that the final entry is written using the black-inked pen. Bags and other materials should be placed in front of the room before the competition starts.
2. Are there any deductions for erasures on the final draft or poor legibility?
· There will be no deductions for erasures or illegible phrases. However, the contestants are encouraged to write neatly and clearly.
3. Are we allowed to leave the room when the competition begins?
· No. The contestants not permitted to leave the room for any reasons except emergency situations as determined by the proctors. If they wish to leave the room before the allotted period, they shall be forced to pass their final drafts.
4. Can we put our cellular phones in our pockets just in case our parents want to keep in touch with us?
· No. To prevent cheating, they must be kept inside your bags. Besides, all cellular phones must be strictly turned off to avoid disturbing others while they are writing. Owners of phones that cause distractions (i.e. ringing, vibrating) shall be forced to pass their final drafts.
5. What are the punishments for violating the rules?
· If the contestants deliberately and intentionally violated the rules that will affect the credibility of the contest, they will be disqualified automatically.
